Punjab News: The Punjab government has done something that no other government has done before. The Road Safety Force, or SSF, is now emerging as a new force of trust in every corner of Punjab. This force is not only preventing accidents but also saving lives, preventing homes from being destroyed, and making every Punjabi feel that the government stands with them at every moment, at every turn.

When did the SSF initiative start?

When the Bhagwant Mann government started this force in January 2024, hardly anyone had thought that such a big change would be seen in a few months. Today, SSF teams are deployed every 30 km on the 4100 km long roads of Punjab. Equipped with high-tech vehicles like the Toyota Hilux and Mahindra Scorpio, these teams reach the spot within 5 to 7 minutes as soon as they get information about the accident. The injured are immediately given first aid and taken to the hospital. So far more than 35,000 lives have been saved.

Women also got leading roles

The Mann government has also brought the daughters of Punjab forward in this force. Today 28% of women are a part of the SSF. This is not just a job but a duty of trust, which shows that the government is bringing about real change. This is real empowerment.

Punjab SSF Saves Lives, Prevents Crimes

The SSF has also done a great job in cases of drug smuggling, stolen vehicles, and suicide. So far, 12 people who had attempted suicide have been stopped in time. Safely escorting late-night women passengers, school children, and tourists has now become a daily routine for this force.

Children Die Again In Road Accidents

The proudest thing is that in 2024, no child died in a road accident while going to or returning from school in the areas where the SSF is deployed. This is the first time this has happened in Punjab, which shows that the government has worked on the ground and not on paper. This force is completely connected to technology—speed guns, body cameras, e-challan systems, mobile data, and AI technology are being used to make policing fast, smart, and transparent.

Decline in hospital expenses and insurance claims

Due to SSF, hospital expenses have reduced, insurance claims have decreased, and people have also gotten mental relief. Tourism has increased, the traffic system has improved, and people's trust in the government has become even stronger. The success of SSF is not a scheme but the victory of the thinking that gives priority to the lives of common people.
